Strategies For Making People Fall In Love With You:
* "Tell them that you own a whole bunch of candy stores." -- Del, age 6
* "Shake your hips and hope for the best." -- Camille, age 9
* "Yell out that you love them at the top of your lungs...and don't worry if their parents are right there." --Manuel, age 8
* "Don't do things like have smelly, green sneakers. You might get attention, but attention ain't the same thing as love." -- Alonzo, age 9
* "One way is to take the girl out to eat. Make sure it's something she likes to eat. French fries usually works for me." -- Bart, age 9

finally, vegas
Jan. 17th, 2005 | 05:26 pm
Thursday I'm headed to vegas with the boy. It was either seeing O on Thursday, and then seeing G love & special sauce on Friday, or seeing Zumaniti/Ka and G love on the same night, or seeing Zumaniti and Ka on the same night. Well, we're gonna see Zumaniti -and- Ka, and it's just gonna be a Cirque kind of night. I'm kind of nervous about going to a casino kind of place. I feel like I'm still not old enough, or maybe it's just this nervous anxiety about the potential to drop so much cash. Especially with a fellow gambling lover. I guess I just need to keep my head screwed on despite the dizzying carpets and ding-ding machines. We're staying at MGM and we have reservations for the tables where they cook in front of you at Shibuya. eee...here i come, fun.
Volleyball season has started up. Playing 3 teams again. Last season's monday team, besides being supported by a local beer company, was uninspiring. Something about the organizer/captain being a "dirty" player (not calling nets/carries), and how he seemed to impose really untraditional lineups/plays like leaving a huge hole in the middle on purpose. Blah. Anyways, I'm excited to play on the team I originally played in several seasons ago.
My place is slowly becoming a closet where I come home in the morning, shower, change, and go to work. I still like having a place to call my own though. It's funny how much the option to spend alone time makes the choice to not do so more meaningful. So far, the relationships where I haven't moved in completely with someone have worked out the best. I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to move in with anyone. Does anyone have two apts/houses forever after?
United colors of benetton is having a sale. It's a holiday in my book.
Ate at Petit Robert recently; was delicious. Made use of the http://sfdineabouttown.com/ special going on. L'olivier had a great Creme Brulee. yum. phredward is great to eat with...
Went to my cubemate's 40th bday party. Over 150 people in 2 loft spaces, each about 2200sqft..dj's, free drinks, lots of party favors, live & professional trapeze act, rented taco truck outside, floating hammocks & swings, pillow fights. Someone was even doing a live painting of the party.

camille, you are so powerful, i am in awe of your cold. Because i think i have it, from sharing a drink with berman. I also have the dry-coughing remnants of my last cold from about a week ago, plus the rest of my weak stomach from food poisoning. I also have a urinary tract infection and i'm got prescribed codeine and something that will make my pee turn orange. fun fun!
will someone lend me harold and kumar, and return my garden state, please? I'm proud that i've provided a lot of lj content indirectly.

sick sick sick

There's times when you think you're invincible because you've been able to avoid getting sick for so long that you think maybe you've got some kind of superior gene mutation. Well, that illusion melted into a slimy puddle about 4 days ago when I flew to tokyo and proceeded to go from thinking i might have allergies, to knowing i have a cold, to sniffling my head off for 24 hours, followed by coughing my lungs up for another 24 hours, ending with a bout of food poisoning where i proceeded to purge my stomach and dry heave for a day. I just attempted to drink some soup and i hope that holds. My mom did make me feel better by bringing me to the spa and getting an hour long massage and an hour long facial. All i did in hk this month: get a haircut, get a new camera, get a massage & facial, eat wonton noodles, dimsum, and meet random relatives while eating. Oh, and use the internet at the airport (where i am now).
Before the food poisoning bit, i managed to eat the world's best sushi, introduced to me by crobson. This sushi place has all these plates hanging on the walls, supposedly detailing the names of the fishermen they've maintained a relationship with for over 30 years. The fish was caught in the morning, and expertly served, and crobson provided the entertainment for us and the chefs by chattering fluently in japanese, and looking white. If you goto tokyo, don't forget to ask me where this place is.
I really should put together some kind of vacation summary, even if i bored you all. Might have to wait until i feel a little closer to healthy. Can't wait to get back to sf though. Missing lots of people, places, and !living out of a suitcase would be nice.
